Mount Washington Improvement Association (MWIA) is an all-volunteer organization that has been working to benefit our neighborhood since 1885. In addition to sponsoring and funding community events and opportunities, MWIA works with officials at the city, state, and federal levels on issues ranging from development, transportation, public safety, parks, schools, and zoning.
Current MWIA dues are:
First time members $19
Renewing members $40
Sponsoring members $100
Your investment supports many volunteer hours toward neighborhood causes every year. A stable, safe, and thriving neighborhood benefits all of us. Your support is vitally important to continue the work of MWIA toward the preservation, betterment, development, and well-being of our community. Members also receive the MWIA Value Card, which provides valuable discounts to local merchants.
There are two ways to become a member of the MWIA.

Alternatively, you can pay your MWIA dues online with any major credit or
debit card, or a PayPal account. All payments are securely processed by PayPal. (However, should you encounter any problems, you can return to
this page and mail in a check and membership form instead.)

Either way, your support is important and appreciated.
Please note: MWIA is not a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We maintain a 501(c)(4) status that allows us to lobby on behalf of the neighborhood. Consequently, MWIA dues are not tax deductible.

Your membership will bring you all of the benefits that come from supporting a strong and effective neighborhood association. In recent years MWIA has:

worked to get traffic calming devices installed throughout the community

helped prevent the old University of Baltimore fields from being developed, and created the new Northwest Park

supported the expansion of our Mount Washington School to an award-winning K-8 program

worked to bring the Jones Falls Trail to Mount Washington

supported improvements to the Mount Washington Arboretum and Luckman Park
All of these successes are achieved with our community's support of MWIA. And all of them help make Mount Washington the kind of neighborhood where, year in and year out, our homes maintain and even increase their property values.
