Benefits of Membership
Your membership helps to sustain a strong and effective neighborhood association. In recent years, the MWIA -- its volunteer board along with many engaged neighbors -- has contributed to the neighborhood by:

-
Co-hosting the annual NovemBEER at the Mt. Washington Arboretum.
-
Coordinating the perennial favorite, the July 4th parade and festivities.
-
Delivering communications through the website and quarterly newsletter delivered to every household.
-
Organizing Yard Sale Days
-
Hosting bi-monthly open community meetings with speakers of interest.
-
Arranging bi-weekly clean-ups to help keep the neighborhood clean, green, and safe.
-
Scheduling the always popular quarterly Dumpster Days.
-
Monitoring developments at the Pimlico Racetrack that will impact the area.
-
Supporting the Mt. Washington School, the Mt. Washington Preservation Trust, and the Mt. Washington Farmer’s Market in our 2024 grants cycle.
-
Providing $100 grants for block parties to promote gatherings of neighbors.
-
Serving as a liaison to city agencies and elected officials.
-
Providing guidance on zoning and architectural matters, with legal counsel if necessary.
-
Participating in the 5 Neighborhood Presidents Committee through Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc (CHAI) to work on issues relevant to northwest Baltimore City.
All of these successes are achieved with our community's support of MWIA. And all of them help make Mount Washington the kind of neighborhood where, year in and year out, our homes maintain and even increase their property values. Please join MWIA to keep our neighborhood great and to make it even better.
